Yesterday I went to see the BFG in the octagon theatre. The BFG was awesome and cool! The nasty giants ate everybody. The bone cruncher was funny. Their acting was brilliant.

Four thrilled year one boys left the BFG performance along with their accompanying adults on Saturday. The adaptation of the fantastic story did not disappoint in the slightest.

We would highly recommended this show in the wonderfully intimate octagon theatre.

We had a lovely satisfying lunch in the octagon cafe before the performance. Staff in the box office, cafe and theatre were very kind and helpful too!

We loved the BFG play because it was funny and unique. We liked it when the BFG caught other people's dreams and we especially liked it when we got to watch the dreams. Our favourite bit was when the other Giants went to Sweden to eat the other people. We also liked it when the school teacher started to dance that was really funny. We loved when the young boy who was doing his homework and then the phone rang so the dad came out of the shower only with a towel and was covered in soap.

As a group of over 200 children and staff we were warmly welcomed at The Octagon Theatre. The play was brilliant, the actors were very good and the children loved the performance. Well done also to the props people as they were also magnificent. The only down side was we put an order in, when we arrived for staff drinks so that they would be ready for collection at the interval and the drinks were still being poured as the three minute return to your seats warning was announced. The lady serving us was apologetic and was slowed down by the drinks machine being very slow. Again a great, show, great staff and a wonderful treat for all that watched.

The small but cosy theatre gives its customers the full experience of a much larger city theatre. the productions are well performed and can convey the theatre goers to another world, a wonderful night out and their is a bar too!
