Is there no end to the pride this town feels about its success in F1?

It seems a very long time ago that Brawn GP - taking on the Brackley Honda site, had to make a lot of people redundant, causing difficulty for many families in this and the surrounding areas. We heard that Ross Brawn had great plans for the company, and this did instil a great deal of confidence at the time, though there was still a feeling that this might not be the end to the story.

But who could have forecast the prodigious success of Brawn GP? The leadership which Ross Brawn has clearly demonstrated has led to Jensen Button winning the driver's championship in Brazil today.

The people of Brawn GP have demonstrated excellence, tenacity, professionalism and dedication in one of the most difficult economic backdrops we've seen here for a long time. They deserve their success and the people living in this small Northamptonshire will be proud of them and their world class F1 team.
