I would never intentionally contravene copywrite rules and regulations, but I recently fell foul of the rules without appreciating that I had done anything wrong.
I quoted from another publication, giving credit to the author, and source of the publication, and suggesting that the information was of interest and directing readers to the originating source.
I had thought that this would not be an issue, and would in fact, be appreciated. But not the case.
I now understand that only with the consent of the originating publisher can I use the copy.
So lesson learnt!
