A care home in Bradford is inviting local people to join in its celebrations for Care Home Open Day.
On Saturday 29th June, from 11am-4pm, the team at Mill Lodge on Moorside Place will be opening the doors to the care home for a free family-friendly event to celebrate Care Home Open Day, a countrywide initiative to create lasting relationships between care homes and their local communities.
This year’s theme celebrates the role of arts within care, which is important in encouraging residents’ self-expression, and helps to create meaningful experiences.
Mill Lodge has organised an art-themed party to celebrate the open day, with entertainment, activities and creative fun for all. Visitors can look forward to family-friendly fun at an arts fête, with a live singer to get everyone in the party spirit, and there will also be local artists demonstrating the joy of painting.
Mar Bitor, home manager at Mill Lodge, said: “The aim of this year’s Care Home Open Day is to demonstrate how care homes can be creative communities, and that is exactly what we plan to do. We can’t wait to open our doors to local people, including families, and have some fun together.
“Last year we had a great time hosting Care Home Open Day and I know this year is going to be even better. We look forward to making even more connections with the people of Bradford and celebrating the vibrant environment in our home.”
As part of a nationwide competition across Care UK homes, Mill Lodge will be developing a work of art in the lead up to the open day, which will be showcased at the event.
