I hadn't experienced watching a film at the National Media Museum IMAX in 3D before - so when I saw that the film 'A Christmas Carol' was being shown there we decided to go. The first thing that impressed me was the price. For a family of four, it cost only a few pounds more that we pay to go to the Showcase to a standard screening of a film.
The system to get into the theatre was a bit bizzar. You queued outside in the reception area of the Media Museum, then when the doors opened you queued inside whilst only one person was there to check tickets and give instructions to everyone re seating and exiting. So the process of getting you seated took far too long and a few people had to find seats in the dark.
That irritation aside, the experience was very enjoyable. The massive IMAX screen, surround sound and 3D aspect was impressive and certainly a different experience to watching a film in the usual format.
'A Christmas Carol ' went down a treat with the kids - my 10 year old found one of the ghosts a bit scary, but really enjoyed it. Certainly worth seeing.
