Yusuf Contemporary Art gallery opened yesterday with a BANG.
On Fine Friday evening on display were some of the finest upcoming artists that the Indian subcontinent has to offer and the gallery was packed and buzzing with oohs and wows all over.
Once the first few sales were made the tempo really picked up and clients were bidding against each other trying to get their hands on their favourite art pieces.
it was a pleasure witness such excitement and eagerness to buy and collect Indian art.
Many art lovers and connoisseurs were trying to gage where Indian art is heading.
Indian art has witnessed a correction in pricing over the last few years but now with the Indian economy booming an upward surge in the prices of serious, collectable artists is inevitable.
This is the right time to look at and invest in the Indian art market.
One of the favourites from last Friday night’s exhibition was the “Untitled” by Abhijit Paul, which was sold very early on.
“The Mahabharata - Agony & ecstasy of Mother India” By Manoj Sinha was also a much coveted piece. There was a continuous crowd gathered around this piece - it’s sheer scale and detail is completely engulfing. Such powerful content and subject matter, painted absolutely beautifully. It took the artist 7 months to complete it.
Other artists that were extremely popular were Tirthankar Biswas, Sumitava Maity, Zahoor Ahmed and Sarang Fadnis.
All in all. a fantastic, enjoyable & extremely successful evening,
The next show is already being planned where even more mouth watering, soul lifting works will be on display for your consideration.
