Warning; Fraudulent IT support calls

Extreme caution everyone - you may receive a call from a company claiming to be your Internet Service Provider suggesting there’s a virus on your computer and offering what they call essential IT Support services.

They will take you through steps to fix the so-called ‘problem’ but which really allows them remote access to your computer, your security settings, and private information. Money may be fraudulently withdrawn from your bank account.

Tell the caller you will call them back and contact your ISP on their usual number to check whether it was really them.

The PC Support Group never makes such cold calls to consumers -  no reputable company should, so if you receive such a call, highly probably, it’s a scam.

For more advice from a reputable and trustworthy company, call the company that gets you swearing BY your computers, not AT them!
