Brentwood Theatre Has A New Director!
The Plotters Of Cabbage Patch Corner
by David Wood
December 2010
Brentwood Theatre Company is delighted to announce that Ray Howes has agreed to direct this December’s production, The Plotters of Cabbage Patch Corner.
Ray has been involved in theatre for over fifty years since visiting the West End as a child. He has undertaken direction, stage management, design and backstage work and has a wealth of experience and ideas.
Co-Producer David Zelly said, ‘We have known Ray for many years as he has worked on many smaller productions here. We like to bring in new directors every couple of years and after Vernon Keeble Watson’s great efforts with ‘Fantastic Mr Fox’ and ‘The Twits’ it was time to find someone new. We spoke to several Directors over the past weeks and Ray was the perfect choice.
The production team like to work with actors straight from Drama School and are now booking in to see end-of-year showcases by leading Schools such as Bristol Old Vic and East 15 Acting School. The outstanding performers will be invited to a full day’s audition in September, with rehearsals starting in November.
Tickets will be going on sale at the beginning of June but already there is a ‘waiting list’ – to be added to that list please call 01277 200305, Monday to Friday, 10am to 4pm.
