Excellent idea but please split kids run into older and younger. Suggest street entertainers (collecting money) while they are running doing a long run.

Me, my wife and our two small children did the HEROES RUN event last year and had a really great time. The event is loads of fun and seems to really want to include everyone. Our Kids did the Mini 500 metre dash first and then thanks to some support from Granny and Grandpa they got to watch us running along with about 1,000 other people dressed as various Superheroes in the 5k and 10k race. This event also looks very much like a spectator sport and it's put on by a small local charity that is run by a team of volunteers. If you're looking for a really fun and unique family day out this year this event is definitely worth a look.

I have run in lots of the local races in Brighton including the Marathon, the half and the Brooks 10k and I think that the HEROES RUN event is about as much fun as you can have while running.
There are usually around 1,500 children and adults all dressed as their favourite superhero and I spent so much time laughing and checking out the other costumes that I completely forgot I was running in a 10k.
There is a kids dash before the main adults 5k and 10k races and if you're looking for a really unique and fun event this year where the emphasis seems to be very much on just getting involved then the HEROES RUN is definitely worth a look.

Great initiative. Friendly spirit in general. Length of matches could be shortened for more fun and less pain.

Was great to see the Football Marathon come to Brighton, helping to raise much needed funds for HIV education of young people in a way that is fun and engaging and on their terms - for life-changing results. Lovely day, great atmosphere and impressive dedication by all concerned in giving their time and energy for such a worthwhile cause.

To grow it needs a dedicated food/drink stall. Everything else seems well run. Dedicated refs?

Nice venue, easy access. Maybe somewhere a bit flatter next-time.
