The Bromley Borough Council annual planting programme, in association with community and voluntary groups across the area, is set to plant some 55,00 spring bulbs in the next few weeks.
Parks across the borough will benefit from the project, and 38 sacks of bulbs are being distributed to Friends of Parks and other voluntary groups. Roads and streets won't be ignored, with Street Friends planting daffodils in tree pits, and amenity grass areas will also get their fare share of mixed bulbs.
The council works closely with local residents and Friends groups to look after the borough’s parks and streets. Anyone interested in bulb planting or joining a Friends of Parks group should visit www.bromley.gov.uk/parks or call the landscape helpdesk on 020 8313 4471. To find out more about Street Friends visit www.bromley.gov.uk/neatstreet or call the Street Services help desk on 020 8313 4621.
