To many people, filling out a tax return can be a pretty daunting prospect, especially if it's your first time.
The deadline is looming now (submissions must be made by 31st January!) so now is the time to grab the bull by the horns and start! Each tax year runs from 6 April to the following 5 April, so you'll need the information relevant to this period to complete yours properly.
Firstly, you need to be registered with the HMRC to be able to submit your tax return online. If this is your first year, it may already be too late (paper returns were due back in October 2014).
For most people it's a fairly simple process - there are only 8 pages to complete in the basic tax return form. However you do need to bear in mind that if you're self employed there are additional sections to complete, which is also the case if you receive any income from abroad (and there are further additions too, which may be relevant to your specific case).
Complete all the sections relevant to you, making use of the “How to fill in your Tax Return” where necessary.
If you feel like you need any help with the process, FW Berringer in Bromley are tax experts who can take the stress away from your tax return. Don't delay - give them a call today.
