Here at The Best of Bromley we like to be able to support local charities where we can, and are thrilled to announce that our chosen charity for 2010 will be JusB, an organisation that works tirelessly for young people in the Borough.
The Bromley-based youth charity has been awarded the accolade of Investors in Volunteers quality standard. Only 3 charities in the London Borough of Bromley have achieved this award (the others are Community Links Bromley and Bromley’s Age Concern).
JusB provides eleven different projects which include advice and guidance, support, mentoring, music, half-term projects and a schools programme for the young people of Bromley. Volunteers are heavily involved in all of them.
Tammy Blaikie-Gould, JusB’s Volunteer coordinator said “JusB’s Volunteers offer and bring not only their time, but also their energy, skills, individual perspectives and talents. ...... we are ever grateful to all of our volunteers who demonstrate a tireless commitment to the young people that access JusB’s eleven projects”.
The charity has announced a new range of volunteer opportunities which include event team planners and an assistant volunteer coordinator.
For further information contact Tammy Blaikie-Gould on: 020 8464 2722,
email: tammy.jusb@btconnect.com.
JusB's website is also a great place to see more about their projects and the response they have from local youngsters: www.jusb.org.uk
JusB's charity Christmas card shop is only open until this Friday (18th December), at the Community House, South Street, Bromley (opposite the Fire Station). Cards are on sale for 20 local charities including JusB, so customers are going a long way to supporting local concerns.
They are open 10.00am - 4.00pm Monday to Friday - and here's the delightful bit: free tea or coffee is served with every purchase!
We'll be blogging more about JusB in future, and are delighted here at The Best Of Bromley to be able to team up with such a hardworking and innovative local charity.
