It's National Bookstart Day on Friday 11th June 2010, and Bigging Hill Memorial Library and Pool will be celebrating with a seaside themed event for young children and toddlers.
There will be songs, stories and craft at 11.30am, followed by free pool entry from 12-2pm for a fun splash around with balls and floats.
It's one of over 4,000 seaside related events taking place across the country to celebrate National Bookstart Day, and other events will be taking place throughout the week in all Bromley Borough libraries.
Bookstart is a fantastic scheme helping each child in the UK to enjoy and develop a good relationship with books. A free specially commissioned At the Seaside booklet written by Tony Mitton and illustrated by Alex Ayliffe will be handed out at events along with seaside posters, stickers and postcards.
If you love books, and you want your children to as well, then this is a great way to begin their lifelong relationship by making books fun and accessible.
