Rescheduled Christmas celebrations in the borough

The Christmas celebrations in the town centre which have been delayed by wintry weather are set to go ahead later this month.

The stars of the Aladdin pantomime will start the festive proceedings on December 21st at 5pm with an appearance in the Churchill Theatre Piazza in Bromley town centre.

There will also be a performance by the Rock Choir, street entertainment and Christmas carols.  The celebrations will be rounded off with a fireworks display from the roof of TK Maxx.

“The delay to our Christmas celebrations certainly hasn’t dampened Bromley’s festive sprit.  We are delighted to continue with festive activities and hope everyone will come along and join in with the fun.  Why not also come and browse the Christmas market in Bromley High Street and look for original gifts for loved ones” said Councillor Julian Benington, Executive Councillor for Renewal and Recreation.

Bromley residents and shoppers will be treated to the annual Christmas Markets in the High Street from Friday 10th December.  The market is open everyday from 9am until 5pm until Friday 24th December. There will be a diverse range of stalls offering gifts, crafts, plants, cheeses, Kentish nuts, sweets, German specialities and much more.

Penge will also be hosting a rescheduled Christmas celebration on the 20th December in the High Street and Maple Road from 11am – 5pm.

There will be dance performances and festive stalls and St John’s Primary School will be singing carols.  For children there will be a stilt-walking Ice Prince and Princess and a mini funfair.  The Mayor of Bromley, Councillor George Taylor, will also be attendance to start the countdown to the fireworks display at 5pm.
