Bromley Mencap is a local charity that actively campaigns on behalf of disabled people, their families and carers.
Their continuing action on behalf of disabled people, their parents & carers, supports one main principle: that disabled people have a need and right to live like others in the community, and to have a reasonable quality of life.
It really is an admirable and valuable cause for disabled people in our Borough.
And you can be involved too - there are so many ways to be part of the Bromley Mencap family.
You can get involved in the fundraising activity. Fundraising doesn't mean having to run a marathon (although many people do that too!) It can be as simple as donating your printer toner cartridges and inkjet cartridges for recycling. Or joining Easyfundraising.org and making Bromley Mencap your nominated charity. Then every time you shop online at retailers such as Amazon or M&S through the Easyfundraising portal, Bromley Mencap will receive a percentage of the value you've spent... how easy is that!
You could also become a member. It's really easy to join, membership is free for the first year and you hear first hand what's going on in the name of Bromley Mencap over the forthcoming months.
And if you shop at Waitrose you'll have noticed that various stores across the Borough are often part of the community matters scheme so make sure you pop the little green disc into the Bromley Mencap box when you're there!
