Tabletop Generals 1944
Ideally for older children age 10 – 16, especially those interested in miniature wargaming (including Warhammer), or military history. Tabletop wargaming originated from a game called “Kriegspiel” devised in the 19th century as a training tool for officers in the Prussian Army.
This course will focus on generalship and warfare at two key battles during World War Two. We will investigate the composition and equipment of the armies, the background to the conflicts, as well as the tactics used on the battlefield. Test your own generalship in tactical simulations using simple sets of wargames rules at strategic, tactical and skirmish levels.
For details and to book please contact the museum.
