Renowned South London actor Jamie Foreman (who currently plays “hard man” Derek Branning in East Enders) is turning on Beckenham Christmas lights this year on SATURDAY 17 NOVEMBER, on Beckenham Green at 6.00 pm.
Currently on our screens as bad boy Derek, Jamie also has some excellent film credits to his name.
He is best known for his roles as Duke in Layer Cake and Bill Sykes in Roman Polanski’s Oliver Twist. He played opposite Ray Winstone and Kathy Burke in Gary Oldman’s Nil by Mouth and also featured in Elizabeth, Gangster No. 1 and Sleepy Hollow. Foreman also played Basta in the film Inkheart.
His TV appearances include the 2006 Doctor Who episode “The Idiot’s Lantern”. He also featured as a racist taxi driver in The Football Factory and appeared in one episode of Law and Order: UK in 2009.
And that's not all! His recent work for BBC Radio includes the title role in Wes Bell, directed by Matthew Broughton, and the six part series Hazelbeach by David Stafford and Caroline Stafford. He also played a small role in I’ll Sleep When I’m Dead.
Jamie is a fan of Tottenham Hotspur. If he hadn't fallen in love with acting Jamie may well have been a boxer. His father was a boxer and a trainer at the Peacock Gym in Canning Town before he owned his own gym.
