The 14 Day of Love Campaign has touched a nerve with many people in Buckingham over the last two weeks and that includes the Mayor, Mike Smith. The campaign ends today but the sentiment behind the campaign about supporting and 'loving' your local businesses will continue. The Mayor is pictured here 'spreading some love' with just three of the many great businesses that help make Buckingham such a unique town.
Here is are just a few words from Mike Smith
"Any campaign to support our local business and trader community is worthy of support, and I am more than happy endorse The Best of Buckingham’s 14 Days of Love campaign. Buckingham is a vibrant town, but it can only remain that way with the continued support of local people and visitors. I have proved to myself time and time again that, with very few exceptions, all my shopping needs can be met there.
Unlike many towns, Buckingham has very few empty shops or business premises. Some, like Alpha Composites, show healthy growth despite the recession. New shops, like Signature Eyewear continue to extend our choice of options. Many, such as The Fireside Bistro and Buckingham Delicatessen have become well-established favourites.
Buckingham is becoming a destination town for those who are tired of shopping malls or carbon-copy high streets and want something different. Our shops offer a unique range and huge variety of specialist goodies as well as “the big names”. Most are run by their owners, who provide exemplary service to their customers. If you haven’t already done so, just try somewhere like Flappers to see what I mean.
Why not combine a “different” shopping experience in our historic town, rounding it off with a meal at one of our excellent restaurants or coffee shops, or a delicious treat from Choc-A-Holics? Or if you are a last minute person visit Flowers of Distinction for that Valentine Day bouquet!
I love Buckingham. Come and see why!"
