This year is the centenary of the death of Florence Nightingale who had a close link to Claydon House just down the road from Buckingham in Middle Claydon.
Letters written by Florence are about to go on display at Claydon House until October 2010. The link to Claydon House comes from the marriage of Florences' sister to Sir Harry Verney whose family own the house. She apparently stayed there on a regular basis.
