Genie cleaning company is celebrating after winning two national awards through a business website.
The Genie Cleaning Company, based in Wetmore Road, Burton, attended the Best of Burton business awards and was surprised to come out on top with two national awards and an award for the ‘most loved in Burton’.
Majid Hussain, who built up the company from scratch with Imran Mohammed, said: “It is fantastic. We didn’t expect this.
“It is down to our workers, who work really hard, and we have a lot of good customers who are very pleased with our service.
“We are going from strength to strength.” The Best of Burton is an online directory highlighting the best businesses in Burton and South Derbyshire.
It allows just five top businesses on its website in each business category, from plumbers to hairdressers, based on customer recommendations only.
There are more than 400 franchises of The Best Of website across the UK and it holds a national competition for businesses who attract the most testimonials.
A national 14 Days of Love competition was held in February when businesses attempted to attract the most testimonials to the website by decorating their stores and promoting themselves.
During this time, The Genie Cleaning Company attracted a staggering 345 online testimonials from its customers.
Mr Hussain added: “As a member of Best of Burton, we give out cards to our customers and if they like us, they go online and write a testimonial.
“We have been established for five years and joined the Best of Burton last year, so this is the first time we have been eligible for an award.
“I would like to say thank you to all our customers for all the support they give us.
