Staffordshire farm park to launch a new Pumpkin Village with 30 acres of pickable pumpkins, live music, entertainment and seasonal stalls inspired by some of the largest pumpkin farms in the world.

The National Forest Adventure Farm, in Postern Road, Tatenhill, is launching its biggest pumpkin picking celebration yet next month as it brings Instagram ready autumn fun with boutique street stalls, festoon lighting, pumpkin towers and acoustic sounds for autumn nights.

A relatively new concept for the UK, brothers Tom and Ivor Robinson found inspiration for their latest venture after visiting some of the world’s largest pumpkin farms in Illinois and Chicago. Touring the US for ideas in September last year the brothers will unveil their new Pumpkin Village, which has taken 6 months to construct, on Saturday 5th October.

The new autumnal event brings decorative stalls, pumpkin houses, street food, entertainers, live music and their largest pumpkin haul yet with up to 500,000 of the fresh squashes in all shapes and sizes to pick in the 30-acre pumpkin patch.

Ivor Robinson, whose family has been farming in the area since 1970 and this year celebrate 20 years since the launch of the first maize maze on the site in 2004, said Pumpkin Villages are a relatively new idea in the UK and they were keen to introduce the idea for families here in Staffordshire.

He said: “Every year we pride ourselves on bringing something different for families to enjoy and we are so excited to unveil this year’s Pumpkin Village. With so much to do and explore it brings something for everyone to enjoy this Autumn. Whether you are looking to take in the sights and sounds of the season, stock up on boutique gifts, explore the pumpkin patch or relax with live music and a warm drink the Pumpkin Village packs it all in.

“Why just go to a pumpkin patch when you can experience a whole pumpkin village this year!”

A first for the farm it also means families will now be able to pick as many pumpkins as they wish with ticket prices starting from £5 and visitors paying for any pumpkins they take home.

Open from 10am till 4pm there is a licensed bar and street food stalls as well as roaming performers to keep the kids entertained and live music from a variety of acoustic and country bands.

The Pumpkin Village opens on Saturday 5th October and runs on selected dates all the way through to Thursday 31st October.

Autumn themed food stalls will be dotted around the village so people can enjoy anything from pumpkin lattes and spiced sweet treats to homemade soups and hot seasonal sandwiches while listening to the acoustic sounds of live singers.

Tickets cost £5 for the Pumpkin Village with Pumpkin Village and Play tickets costing £10 allowing visitors to explore the outdoor play areas including jumping pillows, go-karts and fossil dig as well as the three-storey indoor soft play.
