A Day in the life of Rachel, local business woman and mother of 4

Rachel is a mother of 4 who had spent several years working in Telesales and living in Bury most of her life. She decided whilst trying to work around her family commitments that working for herself would be the best way of making everything work out. She therefore returned to Telesales and looked for further work on a part time basis from a couple of different companies and worked from home making the calls herself trading as R M Business Services.

About 4 years ago ,the children were growing and so was her business and hours and she decided to move it to the next level and took on an office in Thetford and a couple of staff to help do the Telesales work and administration. From doing the Telesales she recognised the need for Call Answering services as she was shocked when carrying out my calls how many small business’ were operating there business on answerphones and started looking into providing support of incoming calls too and at the same time had the opportunity to take over an existing Call Answering Business and their clients and so R M Business Services expanding into providing a Virtual Call Answering Service 2 years ago.

Last year as a family they moved back to Bury St Edmunds and decided it is once again time to expand things and have therefore recently moved into a new office in Bury (3 The Old Wool Warehouse, St Andrews Street South) where she is looking to grow the business again and ideally to take on 2 extra part time staff whilst leaving the Thetford office in place and fully manned.

Here are the services offered and shows a day in the life of Rachel and Team.

Telesales – This can be cold calling, Appointment Setting, Research, Customer Service calls, Follow up of inhouse email / mailshot campaigns or just Data cleansing – making sure that the clients data not only is up to date but also that the point of contact relevant to them is ascertained.

Call Answering – This is offered ongoing to provide cover for business when they are engaged on other calls or out of the office or unable to answer, it eleveates the need to use answerphones and risk both customers and potential clients not leaving a message, calls are answered professionally as if it were their own receptionists with callers being told that they are currently in a meeting/away from their desk/with customers etc and the offer to take their details for their call to be returned as soon as possible. This is then passed to the client via email (or Text). They also offer adhoc cover for staff sickness/ holidays etc

As a small business R M can provide the type of personal and bespoke services that a large call centre often can’t give.

They take time to find out their clients’ needs and business services/products so that they can easily fit as part of their team when either making or receiving calls for them. They charge no set up costs or Script Fees and they  have no lengthy contracts or minimum hours/spend so their  clients are free to try us or go and work with any length of project or budget.

Whilst their main aim is to provide support for small local business owners, their clients range from Sole Traders to Multinational , they make calls to anywhere in the UK and also call the EU and US and have one client in Australia for whom they are his “Virtual” UK office!
