First time here and won’t be our last!
Whats great about this place is the ambiance, the attention to detail and quality of food. It beats all surrounding eateries as the food is freshly cooked and served by attentive staff. The choice of food is also great. From toasties to sandwiches,Wraps, soups and great selection of hot food such as pies and fish and chips.
There’s also a full stocked bar and the option of Sunday lunches . 10/10 …. And I’m fussy!!!! 👏

Decided to have a last minute meal out for a quick tea. Tapas was amazing and so were the cocktails. The waitresses were so welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. Enjoyed the cocktails so much that we ended up staying until close. Highly recommend.

I visited Cosalea on Monday 26th September with friends. We all had breakfast here and I had the Eton Mess French Toast! All the food was absolutely amazing and we will definitely be returning.

We took my mum here for a bite to eat on Saturday afternoon. It was the first time we'd visited, and we were very impressed! I'd walked past it many times, and it doesn't look much from the outside to be honest, but I'm glad we didn't let that put us off. It's a modern, clean and well managed restaurant/cafe. It's clean, cosy and bright, and the food was delicious. The staff were all very friendly and I'd thoroughly recommend a visit. I believe they do tapas in the evening aswell so we may well pay another visit to try this out!
Thanks to all at Cosalea!

We landed back from our holiday in Majorca and wanted a meal out instead of cooking. We've been to The Victoria Walshaw and wanted to try here.
The place is lovely, really nice layout and staff are friendly. But, all in all it wasn't the best first impression - despite that, we will come back.
So; firstly when ordering our Starters I ordered the Black Pudding Scotch Egg but the Waiter put it through wrong as he was struggling with the small buttons. It came out as Cauliflower Bravas and I could hear the Kitchen angry, but, they did do my correct one. HOWEVER, when it came the Scotch Egg wasn't Black Pudding, it was just a normal Scotch Egg but I didn't want the awkwardness of sending it back. I am not too bothered but it could be worse.
But, the other starters were lovely (and the Scotch Egg was nice) we ordered Corn Ribs and Pulled Pork Tacos.
The mains we ordered were Gammon with Egg, Pineapple, Chips, and Peas although I didn't get the Peas (again, a little annoying) and my Wife ordered the Fish and Chips which was great and came with a huge portion of Mushy Pea's, so, I just had some of those. Great Gammon, really thick and meaty. Tasty.
We ordered a Coffee and my Wife got an Ice Cream as we had a voucher for £10 off when you spend £60. Another thing to say; not that it impacted us; was that they didn't have a lot of items off the mains and the staff always seemed confused as to what the Kitchen was doing.
Final note; apart from a few hiccups it was a pleasant meal and as I said at the start, it hasn't put us off and we are actually wanting to try it again.

maybe the first review I have ever done, or at least for many years. So please bear with me.
Wow! The Hamers Arms, If I could give more than 5 stars I would. The bar area was spotless, one of my go to tests before I order food is to check the loo - well, they were just spotless too.We ordered drinks at the bar and was served by the landlord Jay who politely introduced himself, for me that is another sign of a person who takes pride in their establishments. Jay invited us to sit and brought the drinks over to us, one of my friends was interested in the history of the place and Jay lit up explaining all about the background.
Food was ordered and came together promptly on warm plates. Again I wish I could give more than 5 stars - Absolutely fantastic. As a group of friends, we agreed at the end of our meal, that we will all be going back and recommending Jay and his team. The Hamers Arms is a golden nugget, I don't think it will be a well kept secret for long!

My husband and I decided to pop in for an impromptu lunch out but were a bit wary as we hadn't been for a good while and we hadn't been impressed with our last visit.
There was no need to worry as the place was clean and tidy with new decor, staff and menu. The food was good - well cooked and tasty - and the staff were cheery and helpful. We will certainly visit again!..

We came to try the new menu and we weren't disappointed!! Lots of options and really glad that they've brought main meals too for when you're extra hungry. Great service from Emily as always.

Called here for brunch. We arrived around 11.30 ISH nobody at the counter so we picked a table for three that wasn't already reserved. There were no menu's we could hear and see someone through the gap. There were two girls a few tables down looking at some papers then they went to the counter and a girl came from the back. We had to ask for menu's,then we asked if you had to come back to the counter to order and she said she would come to us. We ordered our drinks then a lad came from the back and they both started making drinks. A man which we presumed was the chef came in around 12.00. at one point there were queues. When the food came it was delicious. Worth the long wait.

Spent a couple of hours here Sun 7th Aug. and met up with a couple of old mates. It was well worth the drive from Widnes.
General Manager and staff on form. Well mannered very polite. Bar prices ok. Sat in a nice space looking at some very nice well made models. I did not try any food but the coments from other couples was very complementive. I will visit again with my better half in tow.
Many thanks to all staff on lunchtime shiftBulldog

Visited for the second time in a week. Cannot fault this place, not too expensive. Excellent service from the two younger staff Elise, Ben and Sam (chef) and Emily. Nothing was too much trouble. All were polite and courteous. Give it a go!

We found this place online while looking for lunch spots on our day aboard the East Lancs Railway & we couldn’t have been more delighted. Friendly staff, a really nice interior & absolutely cracking food at a very good price. Everything we ordered was clearly home made (burgers, chilli, fish batter). I’d say we would go out of our way to return here. It’s only 10 minutes walk from the station. If you are doing the East Lancs Railway you can’t go wrong!

Doesn't look like a restaurant from the outside, but nice decor inside.
Food was great, and good value.
We were well looked after by the staff - Emily, Ben and Phil.
Overall a really good night, and will definitely be back.
