Came here for a family wedding. The Hotel staff were nice and friendly. Lovely rooms. Great bathroom. Loved the big tv in room. Bed comfy. Wedding food was lovely and a lovely day. Only downfall is prices of drinks including soft drinks and alcohol ridiculous prices. 1 pint of bud and a coke 7.05 I wont be drinking there again.

Brilliant hotel, room was excellent. Huge room, bed and tv. The room had brilliant furniture, dyson fan, coffee machine, iron and ironing board. The shower was great and sky on a smart tv. The room was decorated well and really comfy bed linen. Only one problem was no bath robe so remember to take your own as I am next time. Before I forget to mention the food was great and fairly priced, served by exceptionally friendly staff, it was a lovely way to get away from it all as you can relax as it is all you need and more. I can't wait to go back to the village hotel in bury.

Staff are really friendly and efficient. The rooms are clean , close to the centre of Bury will certainly stay again. Was staying on a leisure break but if had been working may have struggled as the lighting in the rooms is poor.

Even though this is an old hotel, the maintained update, service and staff are standing m, rooms are clean and big! Not a bad hotel! I would recommend it 200% and price wise is not bad, also the have a nice very nice front desk... good food, very good installations overall.

I best write this before I slip into a post-lunch snooze! We have just returned from a Sunday lunch, the hotels website is pretty dire when it comes to knowing what to expect so I'll list as much as I can remember below.

We booked online and added a note for a table close to the carvery due to my Grandads mobility. There is a disabled access lift, as you look at the hotel you need to go round the right hand side of the building and you can get to the upstairs balcony.

We were seated very close to the food as requested. All the staff were lovely, nothing was too much trouble, front of house was very helpful when I was trying to use my terrible maths at the end of the meal! Food was very plentiful, in small pots so you didn't feel gluttonous getting a bit of a few things, everything was very tasty. I'm a fussy eater and found more than enough to eat, though we would have loved to have seen some crackers for the pate, and maybe some cheese for those who don't like sweet for a dessert. Other than the stuffing being dry, everything was great and we've decided this is going to be a monthly treat for a family get together, I really wouldn't go across the road to the other carvery with this on offer.

One thing that families may need to bare in mind, it states that kids eat free (12 and under) with a paying adult, there are no stipulations to this, when I saw a charge for my son I was told that it's only on the 12 o'clock sitting that kids are free, I can imagine if you had more kids, on a budget and just went off what the website said you might have a bit of a shock.

Starters:
Soup and rolls, Tomato and mozzarella salad, prawn cocktail, chicken and liver pate, smoked and peppered mackerel, gala pie and cold sliced meats (peppered beef, parma ham, salami)

Main:
Turkey, beef and gammon. Yorkshire puddings, stuffing, pigs in blankets, carrots, mash and roasties, cauliflower cheese, sprouts, cabbage, gravy and condiments.

Pudding:
Apple pie and custard (ask a waitress for this, they bring it to you) chocolate mousse, lemon cheesecake, fruit salad, ice cream and waffles

Drinks prices are standard for hotel prices, £2.70 for a soft drink, £4.50 for a Guinness although a rather staggering £4.15 for a litre of water.

A nice clean venue for all your business meetings, staff are always smiling and loads of parking available. Resturant is tasty but the drinks are expensive, good job we didn't have to pay for them. Great access to the motorway

Great 80s party night. Nice thought to offer an upgrade for a minimal cost. A Village Club card feels like a must as 25% of the cost of drinks (including booze) is well worth it and brings the cost of a round of drinks to a more reasonable amount!

Disappointed that other users of this hotel were not thoughtful of guests trying to have some peace and quiet or sleep but decided that a screaming argument in the carpark at 1 in the morning was a great way to end the night.. In no way should this reflect on the actual hotel as that was fine.. Some people should just not be let out without their minders.

The room was poorly lit and needed all the lamps on to be anything like bright. There was a distinct lack of overhead lighting. Duvets are always too hot, could do with just a couple of lightweight duvets or blankets rather than duvets.

Great hotel with very polite and efficient staff in all areas. I was impressed with just how quick the service was at reception and when dining. I think they actual out performed some other hotels at twice the price. I was also pleased to see at they had addressed a couple of minor issues from a previous visit and there was regular walks of the guest floors by security to assist any guests that had forgotten the way back to there room. It is still worth mentioning that on the weekend there is loud music coming from nearby (shuts off about 1AM), so bring some ear plugs if you are a light sleeper and not out enjoying yourself.

Came for an engagement tea during the afternoon 28 Aug, outside the hotel, locally at friends in Manchester. We were part of a large party of approx 12 people staying with you. We had a terrible nights sleep due to an extremely noisy group of guests we think that were staying or there for a wedding party. Our room was above the front entrance to hotel.

Good hotel but wedding meant was a bit noisy - can't be helped though as this is part of their business offer. Pillows bit soft and didn't have a hard/ soft option, but this is just personal preference

Travelling for business we get to stay in lots of different places . We cannot recommend this hotel enough - it really is the staff that make it though. Fantastic Customer Service throughout - especially Nathan in the restaurant and all of the Reception Staff.
The rooms were clean, comfortable, well appointed .. can't praise them enough!

Stayed here twice in September while visiting locally for business meetings. The hotel is in a great location for travellers needing to stop not too far from the motorway. The rooms are a good size and the decor is contemporary but a little bit dark with a lot of stripes! The rooms are very hot but the windows open and there is a Dyson Fan in the rooms. The room has an iron and ironing board which is great after clothes have been packed into overnight bags. I had a family room on the second visit which had a good sofa which was great for lounging about on in the evenings. There are vending machines on each of the floors but the contents are a bit restricted. On my first visit the vending machine just ate the money and didn't dispense anything but the staff gave me the money back straight away. On the second visit the vending machines had been fitted with a card reader which works contactless so was no problem. The rooms could do with having a safe for business travellers and a choice of pillows would be good. I had really soft feather pillows on the first visit which stabbed me in the head all night but the second time there was one feather and one not feather which was a bit firmer. Tea and coffee in all rooms, drawer and hanging space was all good. I was really disappointed with breakfast so much so that I never went the second time at all. Very restricted for a vegetarian with no hash browns, no veggie sausages and a very limited tea selection. I also don't like yoghurts in made up pots outside of a chiller or chilled environment. There is a great pub just across the way which does a brilliant breakfast including Veggie breakfast for a fraction of the cost so my advice is go there for breakfast.

Picked this last minute as other accommodation we had wasn't suitable.

This was a great decision! Nice rooms, great beds and, as we had a upgraded room, access to all Sky channels!

Clean and the venue has a great atmosphere. Will stay again.

Staff welcoming and helpful. Hotel walls could be thicker!! Take ear plugs if you don't want to hear everything going on in the next room.

Breakfast good, hotel well presented. Great facilities close to Bury

Venue for my son's wedding and reception. Overall the day was outstanding, although there were a few details that had been arranged with staff that did not come to fruition, and its the detail that counts in the end. I'm sure that they would have been carried out with a word in someone's ear.
A very memorable day / evening and overnight stay, mostly for the right reasons.

We often stay here as it's close to Bury town centre and we are lucky to be able to take advantage of the cheap room deals. On this occasion it was our first wedding anniversary. We had a lovely stay. The receptionist, Ashleigh, exceeded customer expectations with her level of service. She arranged for us to have complimentary welcome drinks and a free upgrade to our room. When I had to ring the hotel the following day as the invoice emailed to me was incorrect, I again spoke with Ashleigh who dealt with my query quickly and efficiently. Thank you Ashleigh!
