Tait Modern moved in on June 10th and are settling in well. We talked to the owner, Paul Tait and the Head Chef Scott, to find out a little bit more about them.
Paul Tait started out in catering at the age of 16 and qualified as a chef at 18.
In 2014, after a short diversion into the world of being a driving instructor, Paul set up a catering van and went to festivals and events before setting up in a production kitchen in his garage and specialising in weddings and parties, which they still do today.
Along with his business partner, Damien, in 2019 he bought a restaurant in nearby Bolton along with a pie company called Empire.
In May, Paul welcomed a new baby boy to his family, and, also took on the catering here at Business Lodge – so it’s been a busy couple of months!
Tait Modern have plans to bring delivery to desk in the coming months, so you can order your lunch the night before and have it delivered to you while you work and we can also look forward to their mobile pizza oven soon providing freshly made pizzas.
Scott has been a chef for 15 years and has followed in his parent’s footsteps as his mum was a baker and his dad a chef in the Royal Navy.
Business Lodge is his first Head Chef position and he’s really enjoying the friendly and relaxed atmosphere.
Scott’s favourite thing to cook is a classic Sunday Roast but his favourite thing to eat is Indian or Italian (when someone else does the cooking!)
Tait Modern are offering daily meal deals for £5 which includes a hot meal and a drink. You can upgrade to include a sweet treat or crisps for only 50p.
Coming soon there will be sandwich meal deals too – perfect for the warmer days!
