Following our successful event last year which raised over £20,000 for Bury Hospice, we invited members of the public to submit art for consideration to our second art week exhibition.

From Friday July 15th – Saturday July 23rd, we will be holding Bury ArtWeek 2011 in Bury Art Gallery and the Fusiliers Museum.

Art week selection has now taken place and all applicants will be informed of the outcome by post in the next few days.

All of the Art will be for sale with a minimum of 25% commission to raise funds for Bury Hospice.

About Bury Hospice

Bury Hospice is an independent registered charity delivering end-of-life care and support to terminally ill patients and their families, helping them to live and die with dignity.

The Hospice serves the metropolitan borough of Bury – Prestwich, Whitefield, Radcliffe, Bury, Tottington and Ramsbottom; and in its 19 year history, has provided care free of charge 24 hours a day, 365 days a year for nearly 4000 patients. However, its inpatient unit of 5 beds is currently the smallest inpatient unit in the United Kingdom.  In order for the hospice to care for larger numbers of people, it need to move to a new, larger site.

Therefore, an exciting new plan has been launched to build a bigger, better Hospice for Bury!  The new Hospice will be built on the site of the former St Bede’s Church on Rochdale Old Road in Bury.

The new, larger, better equipped Hospice would increase in-patient bedrooms from five to 10 and would allow Bury Hospice to care for more people in different ways.
