The use of social media and digital marketing establishes new routes to markets. Improving your online presence will help your business to grow and expand and give you a competitive advantage.

If your business needs to make better use of social and digital platforms, employing a new member of staff or up skilling existing staff within your organisation as an apprentice studying our Social Digital Apprenticeship could be an ideal solution.


Qualifications gained:

 • NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Social Media for Business

• Functional skills in English, ICT and Maths (if required)


Duration of the course:

Average duration is 18 months. The individual will be required to attend scheduled training courses. These will be arranged in advance throughout the 18 month apprenticeship.

 

How is the course assessed?

Individuals will work with their assessor to gain a work-based qualification and produce a portfolio of their work that enables them to demonstrate their skills practically.

• Case studies

• Observations

• Employer testimonials

Assessment and verification are undertaken by Business Solutions Bury College and will be carried out by qualified assessors and an internal verifier.

To achieve the qualification in social media and digital marketing the individual will be required to complete all four mandatory units and a selection of optional units detailed below:

• Social Networking Management for a Business

• Using Collaborative Technologies

• Understanding Social Media

• Collaborative Technologies

• Social Networking

• Understanding Search Engines and Web Based Optimisation

• Creating Websites

• Understanding Customer Relationships in Creative Business

• Using Imaging Software

• Using Website Software

• Understanding and Creating Databases

• Understanding Digital and Social Media in Marketing

• Understanding Mobile Social Media for Business Use

 

Functional Skills

Functional skills are practical skills in English, Mathematics and ICT that help individuals to operate confidently, effectively and independently in the workplace.

These modules give learners the opportunity to develop, practise and apply skills in meaningful workplace contexts helping improve their employability and career opportunities.
