A large scale pub quiz where around 200 people will be in attendance will support two amazing charities, Bury Hospice and Cancer Research.
The strength behind this event comes from the wife and daughters of Lawrence McMahon who sadly lost
his fight against brain and lung cancer at the age of 55 back in 2014. Since that day, Lawrence's wife Jan, daughter Lauren and sisters Hannah and Meg have worked tirelessly to raise funds for both charities. Lawrence fought a 7 month battle and throughout this time, the dedication, unrivalled support and commitment of the wonderful teams at both of these charities offered an excellent source of advice and information to the family.
How can you help?
Lauren is asking for your support to gift items that could be raffled or auctioned on the evening.
Maybe you have gifts lying around the home that are collecting dust, maybe you're a cleaning company and would like to donate a couple of hours elbow grease to raise a few pounds, a business that could donate gift vouchers or maybe, if you cannot do any of these things and would still like to support, you could offer a few pounds to top up the pot?
However you can help will be greatly appreciated and recognised publicly by the family, both pre event and on the evening itself.
The journey so far
Since 2014, the family have held numerous events and have raised a fantastic £20,000 to date.
This latest event will ensure that those most needed funds remain flowing. The money from each event is split equally between both charities.
Lauren says;
"All money raised will be donated equally between Bury Hospice and Cancer Research, in honour of my late father, and for other families who have gone through, or are going through, similar circumstances. Everyone deserves to benefit from the care and support that my dad and family had."
If you can support this event in any way or know someone who could, please share and let's help make it the most successful yet.
