Showing at 7pm, Vue Cinema, The Rock Bury on Thursday 17th March

Frankenstein will be directed by Bury born, Academy Award winner Danny Boyle (Slumdog Millionaire, Trainspotting, 127 Hours) and will be shown live via satellite at Vue Cinema. This has been hotly tipped as the theatre event of 2011, so don't miss out!

The performance, based on Mary Shelley's Frankenstein, has been adapted especially for the stage by Nick Drear and will be directed by Danny Boyle, who is returning to theatre after the success of winning the Academy Award for Best Director for Slumdog Millionaire.

Alternating the roles of Victor Frankenstein and the Creature will be Benedict Cumberbatch (Sherlock Holmes, Atonement, The Other Boleyn Girl) and Johnny Lee Miller, who has been reunited with Danny Boyle for the first time since Trainspotting and is best known for his role in US drama Dexter.

This classic, thrilling but deeply disturbing gothic tale perfectly explores concerns over scientific responsibility, cognitive development, parental neglect and ultimately, the nature of good and evil.

Performances of Frankenstein at the National Theatre have now completely sold out and the demand for tickets for the live broadcast at Vue is also expected to be high. It is advisable to book your tickets in advance to avoid disappointment.
