The Movers and Shakers awards recognise success in local business and celebrate the difference they make to our community.
Wendy Wray from Delicious and Steve Meachin from Brightway Cleaning were both presented with a certificate and a bottle of wine during a networking event held at Santino last night.
Steve was awarded after making changes in his business recently. Although the changes have been necessary due to unforeseen circumstances, Steve's positive attitude has really turned things around. He now works on and not in his business, which means he has been able to expand his team and concentrate on marketing and networking his business.
Steve is truly committed to offering outstanding service and really does go the extra mile for his customers. As well as cleaning, he now offers a number of home help services such as odd jobs, shopping, moving furniture and even topping up the bird feeders for a client with limited mobility.
Wendy from Delicious has also been recognised for her achievements in customer service recently, as she won the title for "Customer Excellence" in the Bolton & Bury Business Awards just last week.
Former newsreader Gordon Burns even tweeted Wendy personally this week to congratulate her and her team on the lovely food and service!
Wendy was also presented with an “Excellence in Healthy Food & Hygiene Award” from the Greater Manchester Public Health Network. Her success appears to be growing exponentially, as she has now been nominated for an Enterprise Vision Award. Wendy also goes out of her way to support local suppliers and keep business in Bury.
