The East Lancashire Railway (ELR) is delighted to welcome back Thomas the Tank Engine for 2011. After several years of absence Thomas is set to roll into the East Lancashire Railway with the announcement of three weekends of Days Out With Thomas.
All fans of the little blue engine are invited to come and spend the day with Thomas and his friends on three special “Day Out With Thomas” event weekends in May, August and October.
Andy Morris, General Manager said:
“They say you never miss something ‘til it’s gone and that’s certainly true as far as the ELR and Days Out With Thomas is concerned. It has effectively been three years in the doldrums as far as the ELR’s appeal to the family market is concerned and we’re absolutely over the moon that we can again present a great day out for the kids and their parents. The railway has proved in the past how successful it can be in putting on the Thomas the Tank Engine events and we’re really looking forward to seeing the little blue engine back on the ELR.”
A Day Out With Thomas is an exciting and fun-filled way for children and adults alike to enter the world of Thomas & Friends™ and enjoy a full day out. Activities will run throughout the weekends including face painting, story reading, Punch & Judy, circus and magic workshops, Thomas temporary tattoos and craft activities, Thomas live re-enactments and other railway based activities.
