A fine food market is coming to Radcliffe, offering locals and visitors the chance to taste and buy the very best local and artisan produce available.
The market is organised by Campfield Events - the pioneers behind the popular Castlefield Market and Friday Food Fight – with full support and backing from Bury Council.
In line with the ethos of its organisers, the market will showcase and support the plethora of local independent talent which is on offer in the area.
Held in the town’s recently-refurbished £1-million market hall, Saturday Fine Food Market is located just five minutes’ walk from Radcliffe tram stop. The perfect shopping destination and family day out, it is hoped that the market will be another step forward in the town centre’s regeneration.
Having recently launched Farrars Cafe and Tea Room in the market hall, organisers Asif Hayat and Jodie Bannister are committed to helping to improve the town centre and bringing in new attractions.
Commenting on the launch, Mr Hayat said: “We are delighted to be able to bring a new fine food market to Radcliffe. The council and locals have been very welcoming towards us and are clearly excited about giving the town a new lease of life.
“Having been involved in other regeneration projects, we’ve worked closely with Bury Council to identify and meet the needs of the town. We hope this will be the first of many exciting ventures for us in the area. We can't wait to get going!"
Having opened Farrars Cafe and Tea Room last month, the pair have had the chance to engage with local residents and gauge their feelings on the forthcoming market.
Commenting on the feedback so far Jodie Bannister said: “We opened Farrars with the knowledge that this was just the beginning of our plans for Radcliffe Market Hall. We’ve been sharing these ideas with locals over freshly baked goods and local artisan coffee over the past few weeks, and it’s wonderful to see how much they share our passion for fine food.
“One thing that has stood out to us is the number of people in Radcliffe that have great ideas on how to improve the area. There is a real sense of community here. We’d like to see as many people as possible get involved with initiatives to improve the town centre and are committed to helping do this in whatever way we can.
“We already have an incredible line up of traders for the first few markets and hope to attract lots of additional local traders to get a real buzz going. This fine food market isn’t the last of our plans for Radcliffe Market Hall. Watch this space for more exciting developments soon!”
Radcliffe Fine Food Market will launch on Saturday 19th September 2015.
Stallholders confirmed for the first event include The Pizza Maker, Blackbird Pantry and The Curry Manc.
