An exhibition with details of more than 600 people listed on the cenotaph starts on Tuesday 5 August and will be on permanent display in the library, which will help anyone who is researching their family history.
An event is being held on opening day, from 10am to 4.30pm, when staff and volunteers will outline what they information they have collected, including poems written by soldiers, letters from abroad and census information. They are also asking people if they have any letters, poems or memorabilia that they can add to the collection.
They will also help people to use the library’s free access to Ancestry and Find My Past, and old copies of the Radcliffe Times will be on microfilm to look at.
For more details, and to offer memorabilia, call Julie Taylor on 0161 253 7160 or email: radcliffe.lib@bury.gov.uk
