The Conservatives won back Bury North from Labour at last nights General Election count.
David Nuttall won the seat which Labour’s David Chaytor had held since 1997.
But in Bury South, Labour’s Ivan Lewis held off the challenge from Conservative local councillor Michelle Wiseman to retain the seat he likewise won in 1997.
The turnout in Bury North was 66.32%, up from 61.5% in 2005, while the Bury South turnout was 64.10%, up from 58.5% in 2005.
