Exciting opportunities await start-up businesses in Bury as the Made in Bury Business Academy begins its search for the next cohort. With a well-established reputation for helping local businesses thrive, the Academy is inviting applications for the 2025/26 intake, providing expert coaching, mentoring, and a strong support network.

 

Supporting Bury’s Start-Ups Since 2016

Launched in 2016, the Business Academy is designed to support new businesses in their early years—often the most challenging time for any start-up. It’s a fact that businesses with access to structured coaching, mentoring, and a strong support network have much higher survival rates than those going it alone. Since its launch, the Academy has supported an impressive 144 Bury start-ups, helping them develop the skills and confidence needed to succeed.

 

Join the Next Cohort – Discovery Meeting in June

If your business will be under three years old in September 2025, then you could be part of the 2025/26 Business Academy group. The programme kicks off in September 2025 and runs until July 2026, with structured sessions held twice a month on Thursday mornings (10am – 12pm) at BusinessLodge in Bury.

To help businesses understand the benefits of the Academy, a Discovery Meeting will be held on Tuesday 10th June—the perfect opportunity to learn more, ask questions, and see if it’s the right fit for your business. Whether you're looking for strategic direction, expert advice, or a strong network of like-minded entrepreneurs, this could be just what you need!

 

What the Business Academy Offers

Academy members receive superior coaching and mentoring from successful business owners and industry experts. Over 11 months, the structured programme covers 18 essential business modules, including:

 

Selling skills – Techniques to improve sales and attract new customers.

Building a brand – Establishing a recognisable and trusted business identity.

Marketing & social media – Strategies to increase visibility and engagement.

Finance, profit & loss – Understanding business finances and improving profitability.

Customer excellence – Developing outstanding customer service.
