She’s One Crazy Girl! – depends on how you look at it.
I take my hat off to Luci who is about to embark on the one of the most famous marathons in the world - the New York Marathon!
Yes in just a few days time on the 1st November Luci Roper of Tic Toc Interiors (and bestofbury member) will be running the 26.3 miles in aid of the mental health charity MIND.
Luci has already raised a staggering £3,600 towards her goal of £5,000! If you would like to get involved from the comfort of your office chair or even the settee without even breaking a sweat then you can donate by clicking here
The team at thebestofbury and her fellow members wish her all the very best and hope that she comes through in one piece, in great time and in full health having fulfilled her goal to raise a massive £5,000!
So what is MIND?
As the leading mental health charity in England and Wales, Mind has promoted mental health for over 60 years and works for a better life for everyone with experience of mental distress.
1 in 4 people suffer mental health problems. Over 100 people take their own life each week. It is a fact that Mental health affects us all!
Each year 31 million people receive prescriptions for antidepressants. 16 million of those receive a prescription for sleeping pills, anti-anxiety drugs or tranquillisers. The MindinfoLine responds to 25,000 queries BUT over 17,000 go unanswered due to lack of resources.
So what’s it all about?
When the first New York City Marathon was run back in 1970 it was run as four laps of Central Park. In 1976 it was moved to the streets of New York and through the 5 boroughs of the city – Staten Island, Brooklyn, Queens, The Bronx and Manhattan. Now covering dozens of culturally and ethnically diverse neighbourhoods it crosses 5 bridges and ends at the World famous Central Park.
Good Luck Luci!! We will all be thinking about you! You go girl!
