Proud traders on Bury’s famous market are the latest people to take the Made in Bury pledge.

The market itself was the first business to sign up to the pledge, which asks local residents, people who work in the borough, visitors and students to say why they are proud to belong in Bury and what they will do in the coming year to help others feel that they belong.

The Made in Bury campaign celebrates the positive aspects of the borough - the places, the people, businesses, historical figures, and experiences which have helped make the borough of Bury what it is today.

Andrew Heyes, Bury Markets manager, said: “Bury Market has signed up to the Made in Bury pledge to show we are proud to belong to the borough.  Every week we welcome thousands of visitors to the market, alongside members of the local community who are doing their weekly shop. Over the next year all our traders will be working hard to make sure that everyone is welcomed to the market and that we continue to be at the heart of our community.”

Bury Market will be displaying their pledge card at the Markets Management Office. If you are a local business who wants to sign up to the Made in Bury pledge please contact Mark Wilson on 0161 253 5588
