On Friday 16 July over 200 people signed up to the Made in Bury pledge at a special event in the Mill Gate shopping centre.

Local residents, people who work in the borough, visitors and students signed the pledge to say why they are proud to belong in Bury and what they will do in the coming year to help others feel the same.

The Made in Bury campaign celebrates the positive aspects of the borough - the places, the people, businesses, historical figures, and experiences which have helped make the borough of Bury what it is today.

Councillor Yvonne Creswell, Cabinet Member for Communities, said: “I am proud to belong to Bury because I believe it is the jewel in the crown. It is vibrant and welcoming to all people and our residents are passionate about their borough.”

“We will be taking this campaign out across the borough in the next few months to get as many members of the community to say why they are proud to belong in Bury and the stall in the Mill Gate is just one of events we plan to hold.”
