Bury Council is seeking a partner to run The Green, a new multi-functional community facility and cafe in Clarence Park, Bury.

The council is close to completing the redevelopment of the bowling green pavilion into a new base for day services, used by people with learning and/or physical disabilities, which will incorporate a cafe for the wider community.

Social care staff will support service users, who will use The Green as a base and go out into the community to engage in activities. They may also spend time undertaking some activities in The Green, such as arts and crafts sessions.

The council is now looking for a suitably experienced, innovative partner to join it in establishing and running the café. The selected partner will, as part of their operation, be able to provide some volunteering and work experience opportunities for people with learning/physical disabilities to help
them to develop the skills to seek employment.

An information event will be held on Thursday 19 June at the bowling Pavilion in Clarence Park, from 3.30pm to 5pm.

Anyone who wishes to attend, or would like more details, should email brett.nelson@bury.gov.uk

Tender documentation and all other details relating to the closing date for submissions can be found on The Chest at https://www.the-chest.org.uk.
