It was pampering all round for thebestofbury ladies recently, as Amy and I both attended a press party at The Beauty Spa, on The Rock.
Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed with a glass of champagne from owner Helen Cross and her team, who had kindly invited us along for the evening. Until then I had never visited The Beauty Spa before but I was certainly impressed by the stylish surroundings, the knowledgeable staff and the huge range of beauty treatments on offer.
We were soon chatting away to the other ladies who had come along and those of us who had never tried the Garra Rufa fish pedicure were working up the courage to take the plunge and give it a go. Although it wasn't for me personally Amy decided to treat her feet and she wasn't disappointed!
Helen and her team were happy to answer our questions whilst Amy soaked her feet in a foot spa before the pedicure - The Beauty Spa take hygiene and welfare for the fish very seriously so our minds were put at ease straightaway. The tanks were extremely clean and the fish well looked after, Amy enjoyed her champagne whilst they worked their magic! I was fascinated to learn how the fish pedicure worked and where the treatment originated from - apparently the fish produce a natural enzyme which helps to break down dead skin and create a moisturising effect.
Amy was delighted with the results of the fish pedicure and promptly had her toe nails painted with a lovely turquoise glitter polish, whilst I treated myself to an eyebrow wax. I was led into a private room, which I noted was very relaxing - I hardly felt it at all and the beautician did a fantastic job.
As a nice touch at the end of the evening everyone who attended was given a goody bag packed with special offers and products to try. Both Amy and I enjoyed the evening thoroughly and would have no qualms about recommending The Beauty Spa for that perfect pampering experience!
