Local residents are being asked to film short video clips using their mobile phone or camera to say why they are proud to belong to the borough of Bury.

As part of the Made in Bury campaign local residents are invited to upload short 30 second videos to www.Burytv.net - Bury's own online broadband television  channel. Everyone who uploads a film to the competition section of the website stands the chance to win a fantastic prize.

To provide a helping hand some films have already been uploaded to the Bury TV site as inspiration, including from one which includes some famous faces from the borough such as film director Danny Boyle and Elbow lead singer Guy Garvey.

Bury Proud: Say it in 30!’ competition will be accepting entries from 14 March to 3 April 2011, with a judging panel deciding the winner. Full terms and conditions are listed on the Bury TV website.

Councillor Yvonne Creswell, Cabinet Member for Communities, said: “I am proud to belong to Bury because I believe it is the jewel in the crown. It is vibrant and welcoming to all people and our residents are passionate about their borough.

“This competition provides us with a great way to share with each other our favourite elements of Bury. I would encourage people to log on to Bury TV.net, take part and share with the community why you are proud to be part of Bury”.
