On Sunday 8th July, Melanie Duffin of Lifestyle Sales and Lettings will take on her biggest challenge to date. Now Melanie is not faint hearted, she's pardon the comment, "a bit of an animal" when it comes to sport. She's taken part in some things that break me out in a sweat just thinking about them, but Melanie means business and I have no doubt she'll absolutely smash this!

So what's it all about and why?

This latest challenge has a very personal meaning for Melanie. It's to support the PSP Association (PSPA), a national charity which provides support to those that are living with the terrible condition that is PSP (and CBD)
She's doing this for her step father who recently passed away from PSP (Progressive supranuclear palsy).
It's debilitating and takes much of a persons dignity away, as well as the ability to coordinate
eye movement. It's related to Parkinsons Disease, something that many will be more familiar with.

So what's she about to take on?

Well, Melanie is used to climbing mountains, cycling for miles, swimming in lakes and running marathons, however, this time round she feels like she's pushing herself to greater heights as she undertakes the E'tape Du Tour, a stage of the Tour De France.
With a 4017m elevation, 169km distance and involving 15,000 riders this is no mean feat! This is the most famous sportive in the world - why start small?

Now Melanie has a Just Giving Page. At the time of writing this, she has reached 49% (£740) of her target, which, may I add is small fry compared to what she plans to do to achieve it. So, I ask you this, can you spare just a small amount to help blast that £1,500 out of the water?

You would be supporting research and resource to help find much needed funds to make a difference and, in turn, change someone's life.

If you can support in any way, share this blog to raise awareness, drop a few quid in the pot or even just give Melanie some amazing words of support, I know she'd be eternally grateful.

We'll be thinking of you on the 8th July Melanie and wish you all the luck in the world x
