Businesses across Bury are encouraged to learn the skills necessary to host a rounders match in our local community, as part of the I Will If You Will movement.
A practical rounders course will be taking place at Castle Leisure Centre on Friday 11th July 2014, 6pm - 9pm.
This is great for volunteers from businesses across Bury to get involved in as it can be used to organise fantastic rounders matches - perfect for fundraising or for team building events.
The Rounders Activator course is usually £30 but will be free if those attending show evidence of hosting their own rounders match following the course. Registration will be taking place after every class to show how rounders is developing in Bury.
Activators are volunteers who will encourage individuals from all sporting abilities to participate in a fun, friendly rounders match in a relaxed environment.
This course will provide activators with a leadership award. As part of this rounders course, Activators will play a game of rounders, co-ordinate a fun and warm game of the sport, play from the Small Games Cards and deliver a cool down chat after the session. Statistics will also have to be given to Rounders England.
Activators will learn how to host and deliver a fantastic rounders match. An introduction to health and safety will be taking place, information on Rounders England will be given, as well as examples of how to warm up and cool down (before and after a match).
The technical side of rounders will be explained to activators, including game organisation and rules. This course will give activators the opportunity to facilitate local tournaments and develop their skills further.
The course is just three hours long and activators will need to bring refreshments and sportswear to take part in.
