A Rio street band, a spectacular aerial display and a fleet of fantasy cars are just some of the highlights of this year’s Bury Lions Carnival, taking place this Saturday, the 12th of June. The Carnival will have a ‘Made in Bury’ theme, celebrating all things from the borough. This will be a great day out for all the family!
Full Bury Lions Carnival line up:
o 11am – parade of over 30 vehicles and six bands starts at Market Street, including a the acrobatic aerial spectacle Heliosphere, Rio dance band, Art Cars and ‘Made in Bury’ float
o 12.30pm – parade arrives back at Market Street
o 1pm – Bury’s gold medal-winning paralympic athlete Zoe Robinson and the Mayor of Bury officially opens the Gala on Market Street
o 1pm - 5pm – Gala at Trinity Street car park and Market Street with over 50 stalls, performances, a children’s funfair and other attractions
Other Carnival events supported by Bury Council:
o 11am – 2pm: The Fusilier Museum and Bury Art Gallery running a children’s craft fair at Gallipoli Gardens
o 10am – 4pm: Owl and birds of prey road show at Bury Market
