Holy Cross Sixth Form College are calling for businesses to support their European opera tour as they stage their own production of Dido and Aeneas in Germany.
The tour will be running during the last week of June and involving around 40 students from the college, who will be performing Henry Purcell's masterpiece at the Cala Theatre in Freiburg im Breisgau.
Holy Cross Sixth Form College are looking for businesses to sponsor this forthcoming tour through creative measures which would allow them to reduce the cost of the tour for students.
It is a fantastic opportunity for businesses to support the local community and give students the experience of a lifetime.
Their production of Dido and Aeneas has been described as: “A very real love story brought to a tragic end through the evil machinations of an all-controlling sorceress. Our production promises to be intimate and immediate theatre; qualities not necessarily associated with opera, but brought out by employing a thrust stage presentation and elements of physical theatre.”
Students will also be performing this stunning piece of opera in Bury in January. View the event details here.
If you would like to sponsor the European tour, contact Trevor from the college on tas@holycross.ac.uk.
