St Marys Primary School in Haslingden are presenting a summer production in aid of Bury Hospice. "The Sound of St Marys" features Sean Ruane and will feature songs from a number of musicals including The Lion King, Cats, Joseph and end in Sean taking to the stage with excerpts of Les Miserables.
As you can imagine school budgets do not stretch to enable self-funding of the costs to put on the production so are looking for 9 local companies to donate £100 towards our costs. This will be used to cover lighting, costumes, sound equipment and set design. In return for your donation your logo will be used on all promotional literature and any newspaper/ radio exposure. On the nights of the production (12th and 13th July) there will be ticket sales, a raffle and the sale of refreshments. All the proceeds of which will be donated to Bury Hospice.
The school have had successful experience of raising money for local causes by way of productions in association with Sean. Last year they raised over £2000 for Bury Hospice with their production of Oliver and the previous year raised £1500 for Rossendale Hospice with their production of The Sound of Music.
The events were well publicised and had Lancashire Radio hosting their breakfast show from the school to promote the events.
The school have chosen Bury Hospice once again as their cause as it is very close to their hearts. Head teacher (Miss Donna McNichol) recently lost her
mum to cancer. She spent her mum’s final weeks in the Hospice and will be forever grateful for the care and respect the staff at Bury Hospice showed during this time.
