Well I came home tonight, had forgotten to get any meat out of the freezer for dinner and didn't even have any eggs - what's a girl to do?
I've always loved throwing a meal together without knowing what's going into it so decided to have a look at what I had in - not much really!
There were a few rashers of bacon, some chilli's and some broccolli. Iv'e always got standard store cupboard ingredients such as a tin of tomatoes and pasta so both were going to have to be part of the recipe too.
So here is what I made - spaghetti with crispy fried bacon cut into strips finished with a delicious tomato based sauce complete with a few fresh tomatoes from the garden, half a red and half a green chilli for a bit of a kick, garlic (got to have garlic) and a few herbs. The result - absolutely delicious.
It's good to challenge yourself every now and again (not that this was a toughie). I love cooking and when it's unplanned it always tastes better!
PS no broccolli was used in the making of this dish - it just didn't fit :-)
