BusinessLodge Bury recently acquired a new building in Stoke on Trent. The new serviced office space is set to launch this summer and will become the fifth BusinessLodge building! This means there’s been a bit of change in the team at BusinessLodge Bury. This month, we decided to chat to Victoria, who was recently promoted from Receptionist to Operations Assistant, to learn more about her new role and what she loves most about working at BusinessLodge.

Tell us about your new role as Operations Assistant!

My new role is NONE STOP! I’m doing a bit of everything at the moment. My main role is looking after Health & Safety for the buildings and working with maintenance. We all try and muck in so I’ve been setting up meeting rooms, dealing with internet issues and phones for the clients and getting our new clients’ office move-ins ready. Also, a few clients have had a freshen-up, so I have been involved with this, as well as general housekeeping. No two days are the same which is really fun!

What made you decide to go for your new role?

I was ready for a new challenge! I felt ready to go back into full time work with my son now being settled into nursery and return to the reception from maternity leave. I was shocked when Juliette offered me the position but really happy. The management team kept it quiet for about 24 hours which I know would have been hard - especially for Kerry!

What has been most challenging aspect of your new role?

I feel my challenge at the moment, after five or six weeks, is leaving all the reception jobs behind that I’ve been doing for the past three and a half years - I have now handed everything over to Natasha & Petra. In my new role, the challenges will be everything until I organise it all into my way, so it feels like my work.

What will you miss most about being a receptionist?

Client chats at reception! You get to know clients being on reception and even their visitors you get to know which is quite nice for them when you do recognise them. Reception can sometimes be a bit of a breather for some clients for a happy chat or even a frustrated or sad chat.

What is your favourite thing about working at BusinessLodge?

I love working with our team! We are all really close in and out of work so it’s nice – we all just fit and work really well together. We have the best, funniest nights out together!
