Bury Hospice, in conjunction with Bury Transport Museum, will be taking visitors back in time for a taste of nostalgia with their upcoming “Vintage Tea Party” event.
The event, which is on Sunday 1st June, will welcome performances from the Carol Godby Theatre Group, Prestwich Hospital Choir, Besses o’ th’ Barn Band, Bury Jazz and Marilyn Hinson, as well as host an array of other attractions and activities including; vintage vehicles, flower displays, stalls, childrens crafts and photography workshop, not forgetting the delicious afternoon teas from Cuppaccino Bistro which will be served throughout the day.
The event has been organised by Margaret Matwiejew, a volunteer at Bury Hospice, to help raise funds for the local charity.
Margaret says “Bury Hospice is a fantastic support for many families that I felt I just had to give something back to them. I wanted to organise a positive and fun event that appeals to people of different ages with different interests and I hope the diverse range of attractions and perfect vintage setting of the Bury Transport Museum will encourage people to take part in the event and support such a deserved cause.”
The Vintage Tea Party will take place on Sunday 1st June, 10am – 4pm at Bury Transport Museum. Tickets are £15 and include afternoon tea, entrance into the museum and entertainment. For visitors not wishing to indulge with an afternoon tea, entrance into the museum to view entertainment is £2. To purchase tickets call Bury Hospice on 0161 797 1748.
