Ian is currently providing archaeological advice to the ten planning authorities of Greater Manchester, managing the Greater Manchester Historic Environment Record database and archive, advising on: the management / presentation of heritage sites, planning policy, community engagement, research and educational opportunities relating to Greater Manchester’s archaeology.
Ian’s main interests involve archaeology of industrialisation, with particular research interests in the textile, glass, iron and pottery industries. Research Framework for Greater Manchester’s archaeology, planning and archaeology, enhancement of the Greater Manchester Historic Environment Record, and archaeological resource management.
If you have an interest in archaeology, especially involving the Greater Manchester area, then there is no better person than Ian to bring you up to date with the Manchester archaeological scene.
